YLS Lacrosse Academy

The YLS Lacrosse Academy prepares young student-athletes to become confident and effective lacrosse players through proven teaching methods, strategic planning, fun atmosphere, and a variety of competitive indoor and outdoor playing formats. An extensive staff of high school coaches, college coaches, and collegiate players are prepared to provide the highest quality teaching experience for every age and skill level.

*A Camp Reversible Jersey is included with Registration

GENERAL INFORMATION

The YLS Lacrosse Academy prepares student-athletes to become confident and effective lacrosse players through proven teaching methods, strategic planning, fun atmosphere, and a variety of competitive indoor and outdoor playing formats. An extensive staff of high school coaches, college coaches, and collegiate players are prepared to provide the highest quality teaching experience for every age and skill level. 

LAYOUT OF CAMP SESSIONS
CAMPERS & COACHES:  Great Mentoring Ratio!
  • Impressive camper-to-coach ratio for effective teaching, mentoring, and supervision
  • Individual skill training and application with high repetition unique to specific skill positions
  • Small group dynamic training and competitive application unique to specific skill positions
  • Large group dynamic training, situational teaching, and competitive application as part of a team camp tournament format
  • High level outdoor field lacrosse and indoor box lacrosse training
  •  Indoor classroom instruction and video breakdown 

CAMP ACCOMMODATIONS & AMENITIES
●      Campers have the option to choose their roommate during registration
●      Campers will receive a reversible jersey that must be worn at all times—dorms, cafeteria, classrooms, fields, green spaces, and all transit between.  Campers will also receive additional resources to hold keys.
●      Campers can bring and carry their own cash, or they can create a camp account for pizza and Camp Store purchases at check-in with cash only. 
●      All campers will be monitored in dorms, at fields, in cafeteria, in classrooms, in green spaces and during each transition.  No camper is permitted to be in unsupervised areas at any time.  Campers that violate this will be asked to leave the camp permanently.

DORMS & SUITES:  College dorms with all of the comforts of home!
●      Air conditioned dorm rooms with personal beds, closet, and desk for each of 2 campers (bring own linens and pillows)
●      5 rooms per suite with a lounge room.  Each suite has a locked door for card scan entry, and each dorm room has a lock for key entry.  Dorm room doors must remain open during the daytime when occupied, and dorm rooms must remain unlocked during the night.
●      Coaches will stay overnight in one of the rooms of each suite to monitor the safety and timeliness of campers.
●      There are private showers, toilets, and sinks per suite
●      Each suite has a spacious lounge with a TV, refrigerator, and gaming system hookups in lounge (YLS and Campbell University are not responsible for any lost, damaged, or stolen items including any phones and gaming systems that are brought to camp)

MEALS & CAMP STORE:  Plenty of delicious options . . . all you can eat!
●      Immediate access to a supervised cafeteria from the dorm with ample indoor seating. 
●      Meal card will be provided to each overnight camper for all scheduled meals.  Commuters will receive a meal card for meals between sessions.  Campers will open up a store account with the opportunity to order pizza in the evenings and food from the camp store at designated times.
●      Cafeteria with outstanding ‘all you can eat’ buffet style meals with stations for pizza, home cooked meals, salad bar, sandwiches, and grilled food.  Campers with alternate meal considerations and needs will meet privately with the head chef to arrange health and allergy accommodations.
●      A Camp Equipment/Apparel Store will be on site each day to sell the hottest lacrosse equipment and apparel

FIELDS, CLASSROOMS, & AUDITORIUM TEACHING:
  Fields like a putting green, and high tech auditorium for film breakdown!
●      Very short and direct supervised walk to fields from dorm
●      Outdoor teaching and competitive game play on 4 very well-manicured natural grass fields
●      Ample shade lining the perimeter along with a pavilion
●      Water coolers and ice provided throughout each session
●      Certified athletic trainers and AED on site
●      Indoor LCD video and board teaching sessions in air conditioned college classrooms and auditoriums
●      Indoor gymnasium for instruction when necessary or applicable

Within all of these great accommodations and amenities, you will interact with a very Knowledgeable and Caring coaching staff of high school coaches and collegiate players that are eager to help each camper become their best at the Lacrosse Academy!

SAFETY & EQUIPMENT:
All participants must be legally equipped for sessions. Proper equipment includes regulation lacrosse helmet, shoulder pads, elbow pads, gloves, mouthguard, and stick. Athletic cups are highly advised.  Players are not permitted to bring lacrosse balls to camp.
