YLS 7s Series Lacrosse

The YLS FROZEN 7s LACROSSE LEAGUE is a fast-paced 7v7 YLS winter league for players in search of an exciting outdoor game with the feel of indoor lacrosse. Skill Clinics from quality coaches, regular season Game Schedule, and a Playoff format will decide the YL 7s League Champions. This YLS league is designed for players to maximize touches on the ball, with every player on the field being 1 pass away from the play. Just as indoor lacrosse, there will be quick passing, a lot of shooting, quick and oftentimes creative decision making, and continuous play on a smaller field. Field setup is a 2D-2M-2A + 1 Goalie, quick whistle goalie clear off of a goal, substitutions on the fly, fastbreak start off of penalties, and other tournament style rules. This is a controlled contact league with an emphasis on game speed, transition skills, quality offensive possessions, and multiple defensive techniques.

TEAMS:
Teams will be selected by the YLS Coaching Staff and Directors. Families will be notified shortly thereafter regarding team placement, practice & game schedule, and additional expectations. Teams will remain very small to ensure maximum playing time. All participants will have an opportunity to play an equal amount of time and can play all positions. Players registering as part of a team must indicate the team name on the registration form. Although an effort will always be made to keep school/club teams together, the YLS Directors may adjust team rosters when necessary.

SAFETY & EQUIPMENT:
All participants must be legally equipped for each session as part of this league. Proper equipment includes regulation lacrosse helmet, shoulder pads, elbow pads, gloves, mouthguard, and stick. Athletic cups are highly advised.

ABSENCES:
In the event of an absence or delay, notification should be sent in advance to Directors@YLSlacrosse.com so that the team can prepare accordingly.

NOTE:
Experienced players are encouraged to maximize instruction by registering for both Frozen Fingers League as well as the Polar YLS Camp which is held prior to this league on the same days.
